Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD) is one of the first retrospective digitization projects undertaken as part of the Lois Hole Campus Alberta Digital Library initiative. The LHCADL Digitization Committee has identified a number of priorities, among them the need to preserve the intellectual capital represented by the dissertations and theses of Alberta universities and make it available to a wide audience.
The Alberta Library has been charged with implementing the federation of the universities' ETD projects to allow users to search for material across all four campuses - Athabasca University, University of Alberta, University of Calgary, and University of Lethbridge.
